Youth Yoga

Yoga is an amazing practice to introduce at any age, but can be extremely beneficial to the growth and development of youth. Studies have linked the practice of yoga to improvements in attention, memory and the ability to perform on tests and in the classroom. I offer one-off or weekly yoga programming for students K- 12, introducing them to the physical, meditative and mindfulness practices of yoga. Through the physical practice of asanas, breath work, mindfulness and meditation students increase their focus and performance in the classroom while developing discipline and self regulation. Students will learn various styles of yoga that are aimed to reduce stress, anxiety and increase social and emotional learning skills through breath work, movement and guided meditation. The practice of yoga also builds emotional stability for children, giving them the tools to regulate their emotions while increasing problem solving, empathy and creativity. The practice also works to reduce stress, depression, anxiety and behavioral issues. Private or group sessions are available to schedule in your home or programming through youth organizations and schools.
